Patients calling a friend, family member or loved one long distance
from hospital bedside are inconvenienced and overcharged by most hospital's
not benefiting from the Telelink system. Most hospitals will only allow local
calling (no long distance). Usually, only inconvenient, expensive collect or
third party billing is allowed; ($8.00 per call). Direct dial long distance
calling is blocked.
UTC has developed a premier long distance calling plan for patient
convenience and patient satisfaction. Patients who wish to activate
service simply dial 3 and listen to disclosure message, and are instructed
to press 1 to activate service for $4.00 per day. After activation, patients
can direct dial and make unlimited calls anywhere in North America without
toll charges.
UTC installs and maintains the "Toll Free" system... extracts billing data
from the on site system... sends billing data to appropriate Telephone
Companies for home telephone billing or credit card billing... collects
revenues... forwards revenues to hospital... and handles all patient
complaints and phone calls.
